JD Amick is a born and raised Chicagoan, graduate of Northwestern University where he studied Creative Writing and Biology, and has been recently converted to loving LaCroix flavored water. He competed in the Louder Than a Bomb Slam Poetry Competition in Chicago, where his team won in 2012. He was a recent attendee of the 2017 New York Summer Writers' Institute at Skidmore College.
