Barbara Kristaponis lives in northern New Mexico, where she works as a
remote data indexer. She has had a varied earn-a-living life — waitress,
keypunch operator, secretary, chambermaid, video person, medical editor,
and high school history teacher. Her most memorable job was as a
camerawoman shooting a documentary in Nigeria and Ghana for the Sisters of the Holy Child. She repaired her cameras during siestas when the
electricity went down and danced with young nuns and priests when the
week’s work was done.
